Section information text: Throughout this course, students will explore the foundational principles of positivist research philosophy, delving into its historical context and theoretical underpinnings. They will engage in critical analysis to evaluate various quantitative research designs, uncovering their strengths, weaknesses, and ethical considerations within the context of positivist philosophy. Furthermore, students will deeply assess measurement tools to determine their appropriateness and validity in research settings. Students will participate in CITI ethical training, which will further expand their understanding of ethical considerations in quantitative research. Subsequently, they will be tasked with crafting a comprehensive quantitative research proposal, integrating their knowledge to establish a solid foundation for a rigorous quantitative research endeavor.
