Catalog description

Section information text: In this course, students explore foundational knowledge of research concepts, which include qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method designs for inquiry. Research concepts are grounded in ethics and the goal of social change. Students learn how to develop and align the research components of problem and purpose statements, research questions, frameworks, and design. By engaging in this development both qualitatively and quantitatively, students are prepared to choose their own research path by the end of the course. Students engage in various learning approaches to demonstrate their conceptual knowledge of applied research methods in preparation for their doctoral study. They engage in the practical application of writing and critical thinking, as they synthesize the relationship between research in their respective disciplines and the promulgation of social change, embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the learning experience.
