Section information text: The purpose of Residency 1 is to socialize new students into the Walden University doctoral community of scholar-practitioners and to meet face-to-face with Walden University faculty, staff, and students. Doctoral students attend required seminar topics which include orientation to academic support services, writing at the doctoral level using American Psychological Association (APA) style, library search skill building, and professional development. Doctoral students attend elective seminars which include advising, career services, research methodologies, and library research techniques.
