Psychological Disorders

Section information text: What is “normal” behavior? How do we define “abnormal” behavior? In this course, students will be introduced to a range of psychological disorders. Topics that will be explored in depth include the concepts of “normal” and “abnormal” behaviors, the methods used to diagnose mental health disorders, and the treatment modalities used to help reduce the impact of psychological disorders. Additionally, students will examine both biological and environmental factors that contribute to the development of mental health conditions, including mood, anxiety, neurodevelopmental, and personality disorders across the life span.
