Section information text: Students in this course are introduced to the nature of addictions and its impact on individuals, families, and society. The course includes an examination of historical and current theories of substance use disorders and behavioral addictions. Topics include an examination of the causes of addiction, types of addictive behaviors, treatment options, ethics, current research, and professional requirements for addiction professionals.
