Section information text: In this practicum course, students apply advanced knowledge and clinical skills to the evidence-based management of pediatric patients from birth through young adulthood in primary care settings. Emphasis is placed on health promotion, disease prevention, and the assessment and management of common acute and chronic health conditions across the pediatric lifespan. Under the guidance of qualified preceptors and faculty, students integrate developmental theory, pathophysiology, and pharmacology to provide safe, family-centered, and culturally responsive care. Learners design and implement individualized, evidence-based care plans aligned with current clinical guidelines and best practices to promote wellness and optimal outcomes for children and families. Course Sequence Policy: May be the second or third PRAC (practicum) course. Cannot be taken concurrently with any other NRNP (didactic) or PRAC (practicum) course, except for the corresponding NRNP (didactic) 6549 course. Prerequisite(s): NRNP 6539 NRNP 6549 (may be concurrent) PRAC 6539
