Section information text: "This course is designed to provide the pediatric advanced practice nursing student with synthesized knowledge needed to provide care to pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood. There is emphasis on scope of practice, state and federal regulation of nurse practitioner practice, prescribing and hospital privileges, negligence, malpractice, risk management, contracts, employment, reimbursement for services, practice ownership, health policy, lobbying, promoting the profession and standards of care, measuring performance, resolving ethical dilemmas, and strategies for nurse practitioners. This course also includes a review of various topics related to clinical pediatric care as part of preparation for board certification examination. (Prerequisite(s): NRNP 6830)"
