Section information text: In this course, you are introduced to the seminal theories and practices of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). You will explore conflict analysis, negotiation, and mediation strategies. Through a series of case studies, virtual role plays, and simulation exercises, you gain insight into the practice of ADR, and will have the opportunity to develop some effective negotiation and mediation skills. You will gain a greater understanding of the differences between principled and positional negotiation and mediation; including such professional concepts as fairness, integrity, trust and confidentiality.
