Section information text: What are the origins and evolution of the concept of health? Students explore those topics as well as some of the important health problems that face the world today and emerging concerns for the future. In this foundational course, students are introduced to key events in history as well as some of the health systems and issues that a modern health practitioner may encounter. It is designed to help students evaluate their professional goals and how to progress as a scholar-practitioner and social change agent. Students explore careers in various health education settings and experience an example of a health department in order to learn about various functions and personnel.
