Section information text: This course provides education professionals with an overview of physical, cognitive/language, and social and emotional development in children from birth through adolescence. Education professionals explore prevailing philosophies and theories of child development and form their own child development philosophy. Through an exploration across various developmental domains and stages, education professionals investigate the latest research and thinking in regard to conditions that affect children¿s learning and development, such as risk factors, developmental variations, temperament, rate of maturation, innate abilities, culture, family, community, and societal influences.
