Section information text: This course is an introduction to the higher education politics and the policy-making process. In this course, education professionals survey the general nature of policy making with examples and readings from higher education. Key stakeholders, institutional structures, and processes in the federal, state, and local higher education policy arenas will be studied. The origins and consequences of key policy enactments affecting college access and success, instruction, performance accountability, and the economic development role of higher education are studied through scenarios and case studies.
