Section information text: During the course, learners have a hands-on opportunity to create an inviting and cognitively nurturing online presence and to practice the art of online teaching. Scholar-practitioners who are interested in delivering effective online instruction develop skills in an authentic environment to gain essential experience. In this course, learners engage in teaching scenarios with guidance and feedback from experienced online faculty members as well as with peers. With careful oversight, mentoring, and coaching, learners practice and analyze facilitation activities, such as discussion board interactions, grading and assessing student work, and posting announcements.
