Section information text: In this course students are provided with insight into cryptographic algorithms and protocols. Students have the opportunity to acquire a critical understanding of how to use cryptographic algorithms and protocols to solve practical security problems (confidentiality, integrity, authenticity, and so on). Students also have the opportunity to acquire a systematic understanding concerning open source tools to build secure applications and knowledge of how best to apply such tools.
