Catalog description
Section information text: Students in this course engage in a study of the changing strategic context of public administration and nonprofit management. Students apply strategic thinking, within the context of leadership, centered on establishing and implementing short-term (1–2 years), mid-term (3–5 years), and long-term (6–10 years) strategic planning goals to support an organization’s mission and advance the public good. Students apply strategic processes and principles (e.g., SWOT/SWOC analysis and adaptive planning) to create and present a comprehensive strategic plan designed to improve organizational efficiency, manage risk, and optimize financial budgeting. In addition, they will examine future trends in strategic planning in a rapidly changing and dynamic world, including the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on organizational strategic planning.
