Section information text: The purpose of this course is to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to serve on or collaborate with a nonprofit board to advance an organizational mission. They will examine the essential roles, responsibilities, and governance practices of nonprofit boards. Additional key topics for exploration include legal obligations, financial management, strategic planning, public communication, fundraising, leadership oversight, and measuring progress. Upon successful completion of the course, students will have the opportunity to earn a workplace certificate in nonprofit board fundamentals.
