Catalog description

Section information text: This course introduces students to the fundamentals of the nutritional sciences with an emphasis on the biochemistry of human systems. Through discussions, lab work, and other practical assignments, students explore the body’s digestive and metabolic processes, the components of a healthy diet, the role of nutrition in growth and health throughout the life cycle, and the relationship between nutrition and overall health. Through this course, students gain knowledge needed to apply scientific principles when interpreting nutritional information.
