Catalog description

Section information text: In this course, students work toward understanding Indigenous peoples around the world. The course explores Indigenous identity; historical continuity with precolonial and/or pre-settler societies; Indigenous identity in relation to natural resources; and Indigenous languages, cultures, and beliefs. Through this course, students gain the familiarity appropriate to explain processes of indigenization, adaptation, and communication as phenomena of globalization.
