This course examines legal and ethical issues affecting health care institutions and the management of risk within the organization. The content of the course will include an overview of the legal and regulatory constraints of the health care industry along with practical application of the laws that affect operational decisions within healthcare. Topics include demand, supply, redistribution and the role of the government, risk management, and the ethical implications of current financial practices and economic imperatives.
