Catalog description

104 This course will provide an overview of the speech-language pathologist's role in counseling patients/clients, students, family members and caregivers. Knowledge competencies in effective information-sharing, and social/multicultural counseling adjustments will be satisfied. Clinical skills competencies in appropriate SLP counseling techniques specific to behavior management, aural habilitation, swallowing, communication and cognitive disorders will be addressed and practiced with clinical simulation exercises.
