Catalog description

Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online, face-to-face or hybrid). 3 credits. The course examines housing issues as a major determinant of modern America's economy and social well-being. With a focus on the public and private forces that influence various components of the housing issue, such as: historical land use policies; demand for housing; housing availability to various economic and social groups; historical development of housing programs and policies; housing design and quality (including new construction, rehabilitation, historic preservation and adaptive re-use); housing finance; and the relationship of housing to planning in communities.
