Catalog description

Semester course; 1 lecture and 2 laboratory hours (delivered online, face-to-face or hybrid) 2 credits. Enrollment is restricted to students with graduate standing in counseling or clinical psychology and by permission of the instructor. Introduces basic principles of interviewing as they apply to theories and practice of psychotherapy and counseling. Laboratory requires videotaping of simulated counseling/psychotherapy session, modeled and role-played interviewing situation, skill development and demonstration, and evaluative interpersonal feedback.
