Experiential Rotation.

Catalog description

Semester course; 80 field experience hours. 2 credits. Prerequisites: BIOL 300 and CHEM 302 . The course will provide opportunities and facilitation for students to participate in mentored experiential learning in pharmaceutical sciences through an externship with VCU partners. Examples of experiences offered include: externships in industrial settings, government/regulatory agencies, clinical pharmacies and other partners working with drug product development/dispensation. Students will have two mentors: one at VCU and one at the external partner institution. During the experience students will apply knowledge and skills related to pharmaceutical sciences, including the discovery, development, manufacturing and approval of pharmaceutical products and therapies.
