Catalog description

Semester course; 2 lecture and 2 laboratory hours. 3 credits. Enrollment is restricted to students in the professional Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Introduces the student to foundational rehabilitation principles and procedures involved in the evaluation and treatment of the rehabilitation patient. Enhances the student’s ability to select and perform basic skills which are fundamental and preparatory to more advanced evaluation and treatment procedures. Emphasis will be placed on student’s clinical reasoning for the selection and proper execution of basic procedures. Introduces communication methods and skills, including documentation, appropriate for interaction with patients, families and other healthcare providers.
