Catalog description

Semester course; 3 lecture hours. 3 credits. Focuses on exploration of professional development skills integral to the advancement of occupational therapy practice. This course will guide students in self-analysis to identify academic, personal and professional goals. Topics presented will include, but are not limited to, principles of leadership theory, leadership traits and skills, global health perspectives, emerging areas of practice, advocacy, and models of teaching and learning. As the introductory course into the doctoral capstone experience students will learn the process for creating an evidence- and theory-based innovative capstone project and experience.
