Catalog description

Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online). 3 credits. Enrollment is restricted to students admitted to the graduate program or by permission of the instructor. Integrates principles of epidemiology, evidence-based clinical prevention, outbreak investigation and surveillance, behavioral modification, population-level disease management and disaster preparedness. Students will analyze primary and secondary data and utilize population health models and frameworks to address population health needs and develop equitable population-based interventions and evaluation plans in relation to public health policy. Sociocultural and legal perspectives will be evaluated at a regional, national and global level to develop partnerships with healthcare systems and communities.
