Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online). 3 credits. The course prepares students with skills for strategic leadership and management within healthcare organizations. It explores the dimensions of strategic management, contrasting them with other administrative decision-making approaches. The healthcare organization's value chain is presented and evaluated as a guiding framework for strategic management and the role of leadership throughout the strategic management process is thoroughly discussed. Techniques for external and internal environmental analyses are explained and the relationship between environmental analysis and competitive advantage is examined.
