Family Primary Care Practicum I.

Catalog description

Semester course; 1 clinic hour (90 clinic contact hours). 1 credit. Prerequisites: NURS 673 and 708 . The course provides an opportunity for students to develop beginning competencies as a family nurse practitioner through practicum experiences. Advanced health assessment skills and knowledge of management of common health problems are applied in the clinical setting to improve critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning. Students will work with clinical preceptors to develop their clinical reasoning skills. Graded as satisfactory/unsatisfactory.
