Semester course; 3 lecture and 1 laboratory hour (40 laboratory contact hours, delivered hybrid). 4 credits. Prerequisites: NURS 723 and 724 , or by permission of the instructor. Provides knowledge for completing an advanced practice comprehensive and systematic health assessment with the purpose of developing a differential diagnosis. Focuses on advanced practice assessment techniques in collecting and interpreting data from the health history, screening tools, physical and mental status examinations, and laboratory or diagnostic tests. Emphasizes the application of clinical reasoning to develop an individualized plan of care incorporating health promotion, disease prevention and chief complaint management with consideration for vulnerable populations.
