Catalog description

Semester course; 3 lecture and 60 laboratory hours (delivered online). 5 credits (3 credits lecture and 2 credits laboratory). Enrollment is restricted to students in the B.S. in Nursing, R.N.-B.S. completion program or by permission of the instructor. The course focuses on determinants of population health and the nurse’s role in the health promotion and prevention of disease and injury across the lifespan. Opportunities to apply population health concepts in community-based settings are provided. The course includes an exploration of strategies and the nurse's role in protecting the health of the population in both public health emergencies and disasters.
