Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online). 3 credits. Prerequisite: NURS 308 or NURS 350 or by permission of the instructor. The course examines ethics, law and public policy that influence nursing practice and health care. The emphasis of the course will be on the role of the professional nurse as an advocate for patients, families, communities, the nursing profession and healthcare systems.
