Catalog description
Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online, face-to-face or hybrid). 3 credits. Prerequisites: UNIV 200 or HONR 200. Explores the experience and portrayal of women and gender-nonconforming people in varied religious and spiritual traditions. Study focuses on how these traditions’ practices, teachings and aesthetic traditions bear upon people’s social, economic, political, creative and spiritual lives. Special attention is given to social justice movements that emerge in connection with globalization and religious fundamentalism. Crosslisted as: GSWS 453 / RELS 453 .
