Semester course; 1 seminar or workshop hour. 1 credit. May be repeated for a maximum of two credits toward graduation. A professional development course for graduate students in the biomedical sciences that covers topics such as: university, School of Medicine, department and program resources available; categories of artificial intelligence along with ethical considerations, responsibilities and best practices associated with their use; constructing a job search strategy in their respective area; foundational leadership tactics including leading of self, leading of others, having difficult conversations that are productive, working as part of a team, resiliency, work-life balance and managing up as described in a self-generated leadership profile; the overall timeline and major steps associated with publication of scholarly articles and submission of grant applications. Students will participate in engagement activities such as team-based learning projects, team-based presentations and assisting with selection and order of topics to be covered.
