Semester course; 3 lecture hours. 3 credits. An overview of the methodology, theory and practical uses of history that is produced for, by and/or with the public, outside of the classroom context. Explores the relationships between historians, historical sites and organizations, communities, and cultural memory. Possible topics of inquiry include historical monuments, historic preservation, museum studies and oral history.
