Catalog description

Semester course; 2 lecture hours (delivered online, face-to-face or hybrid). 2 credits. Prerequisites: EPID 571 and EPID 650 . Enrollment is restricted to students in the Master of Public Health and Ph.D. in Epidemiology programs, or by permission of the instructor. The course introduces the foundational principles of infectious disease epidemiology. Students will explore methods for describing disease patterns, assessing infection risks and evaluating public health impacts. Emphasis is placed on prevention and control strategies for selected infectious diseases. The course combines lectures with practical exercises to develop students’ skills in applying epidemiologic techniques to real-world public health challenges.
