Semester course; 2 lecture hours (delivered online). 2 credits. Prerequisites: EPID 571 and EPID 650 . Enrollment is restricted to students in the Master of Public Health and Ph.D. in Epidemiology programs. The course provides a comprehensive introduction to social epidemiology, exploring the historical development of the field, conceptual frameworks, current topical areas and key research methods. Students will learn how social determinants influence health outcomes and the distribution of disease. The course will cover relevant methodological approaches and review the role of emphasize the role of community engagement.
