Catalog description

Semester course; 3 lecture hours. 3 credits. A cross-disciplinary examination of issues related to race, ethnicity and cultural diversity in education. This course works under the premise that race is an essential social category of analysis for the policies and everyday practices experienced in U.S. society. Students will review a variety of historical and contemporary theories of race from early foundations of race theory to relevant contemporary theories and methodological approaches to research and problem resolution strategies.
