Advanced Database.

Catalog description

Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online or face-to-face). 3 credits. Enrollment is restricted to graduate students in the College of Engineering or by permission of the instructor. Topics discussed include: handling of missing information; the relationship between relational calculus, relational algebra and SQL; logic databases; distributed databases; outer joins; and transaction processing. Emphasis is placed on theoretical issues involved in these topics. In addition students will work in teams to develop a working database application.
