Semester course; 3 lecture hours. 3 credits. The course examines the history, paradigms, theory and practice of mental health diagnosis, with primary emphasis on the identification of issues related to thinking (cognition), feeling (affect) and acting (behavior) upon which diagnoses are based. The purpose of the course is for students to become familiar with the study of mental disorders and learn the system of classification of mental disorders, the DSM-5.
