Catalog description

Semester course; 1-3 Lecture hours (delivered online, face-to-face or hybrid). 3 credits. May be repeated for a maximum of six credits toward graduation, with different topics. The course explores selected topics in counseling that reflect contemporary issues, emerging trends and specialized areas of interest within the field. Course content varies each term and may include theoretical, ethical, cultural and practical perspectives relevant to counseling and helping professions. Through readings, discussion, experiential activities and applied assignments, students will develop foundational understanding of the selected topic and examine its relevance to counseling practice across diverse populations and settings.
