Catalog description

Semester course; 3 laboratory hours. 0 credits. May be repeated. Enrollment is restricted to music majors and by permission of the instructor. Advanced musicians hone their musical skills in a large ensemble setting. Students learn to visually and aurally communicate with their peers and the director and excel in performing pieces from the standard repertoire. Conductors teach principles of intonation, rhythmic alignment, sound and articulation (or diction, in the case of choir) and prepare the ensemble for performances. Graded as pass/fail.
