Catalog description

Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online, face-to-face or hybrid). 3 credits. The course examines team development and strategic leadership through the lens of group dynamics, conflict resolution and organizational change while exploring the basic issues and dilemmas of group leadership, roles, goals and team performance. Students will apply project management skills to lead learning and development initiatives, analyze team effectiveness, and reflect on their roles in facilitating high-performing, inclusive teams. The course provides opportunities for learners to examine personal roles and contributions to groups through team assignments. Through an examination of group theory, models and practices, students will explore the nature of intra-group and inter-group behavior, along with the often unconscious processes that occur in the group as a whole.
