Catalog description

Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online, face-to-face or hybrid). 3 credits. The course explores the foundational skills and strategies required to design and lead effective group facilitation that fosters organizational belonging and inclusive engagement. Emphasizing both in-person and virtual contexts, students will analyze various facilitator roles and develop communication techniques rooted in emotional intelligence, empathy and psychological safety. Through interactive learning, including role plays, group exercises and reflective activities, students will design culturally responsive facilitation plans, evaluate facilitation practices using feedback models, and curate a digital portfolio that demonstrates their readiness to lead collaborative learning and decision-making processes in educational and professional settings.
