A study of development of economic production systems for discrete products in a competitive manufacturing environment. Emphasis is on the interrelationships between product design and production process selection. Concepts of design for manufacture and assembly, tool engineering, and manufacturing systems design are included. Prerequisite: Senior standing in MANE.
