Catalog description

This course is an introduction to business analytics that uses extensive data, statistical and qualitative analysis, exploratory and predictive models, and fact-based management to drive decisions and actions. The development and use of data warehouses and data marts to support business analytics is discussed. The use of key performance indicators, dashboards and scorecards for performance management and opportunity assessment are addressed. Text and web mining are discussed, and the application of selected data mining techniques to business decision making situations is illustrated. Hands-on exercises will be provided for active participation. Prerequisite: INLT 320 .
