Quality management philosophies of Deming, Juran, and Cosby; total quality management (TQM); quality improvement and problem solving, with practical examples of quality problem tools; sampling techniques. The Taguchi loss function, quality function and policy deployment, materials control and just-in-time; quality audits; ISO 9000 inspection standards; charts for statistical process control and interpretation. Prerequisite: STAT 210 .
