In this course, students will develop knowledge and skill needed to understand the individual, community, and societal factors influencing the past and present functioning of Black American families. Students will engage in learning opportunities examining historical experiences, cultural stereotypes, and the systematic marginalization of Black American families through social policy and initiatives.
