Advanced Television Production.

Catalog description

A continuation of COMM 341 . This course is designed to expose students to the fundamentals of electronic field production (EFP) and electronic news gathering (ENG). Emphasis is placed on treatment and script development, visual aesthetics, analog and digital technology, pictorial continuity, and non-linear video editing techniques. Students will develop treatments, scripts, and storyboards in addition to producing and editing several short video projects such as public-service announcements, video promotions, and news packages. The course includes study and practical experience in television production, including television programming. Planning and videotaping of students’ projects. Prerequisite: COMM 341 .
