Catalog description

This course provides a general introduction to operations management. Operations management is the design and control of business processes, that is, the recurring activities of a firm. The aim of the course is to provide students with an understanding of: (1) major operational problems and issues that confront modern-day managers, (2) operations management language, concepts, insights and tools to deal with these issues in order to gain competitive advantage through efficient and effective operations, and (3) introduction to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and management practices that include: review of Production Planning (PP), Financial Accounting (FI), Cost Center Accounting (CC), and other relevant modules. Pre-requisite(s): COBU 260 .
