Catalog description
This course provides a survey of jazz from 1900 to the present. The course includes definitions of jazz and anexamination of its African and European heritage, as well as the study of blues, Dixieland, ragtime, boogiewoogie, swing, bop, cool, funk, gospel, third stream, free form, and fusion.
