This course introduces students to the characteristics of the criminal justice system in the US. Focus is placed on examing crime measurement, theoretical explanations of crime, responses to crime, components of the system, and current challenges to the system. This couse will examine the evolution and practices of the police, courts, corrections and their respective role players.
